My intentions of the
shoot were to capture elements of my garden so to obtain inspiration for my
cover. As on the cover of my book
I am having a variety of hand drawn elements which are associated with gardening
– e.g. garden gnomes, animals, gardening tools, plants etc. So going around my
garden and capturing wildlife, tools and plants helped obtain ideas of what I
should draw.
The successful parts for the shoot was that the pictures were of good quality and focus, had interesting choices of subject matter and had different angles and depths of field.
However the unsuccessful elements were that I was unable to capture a variety of animals, as it was winter/spring when I took them so very little wildlife was available.
If I were to take these images again I would include images of more insects, animals and so that It related more to gardening and that I had more inspiration of what to draw.
Overall I included a wide variety of subject matter and provided a set of good
quality photos, so I therefore do not feel the need to take any more photos as I
am happy with the ones I have and have obtained ideas for my bookcover.
